Hey! My name is Kelly Simon and I am a watercolour artist who sometimes dabbles in digital art, stickers, wrapping paper, acrylic and oils. I just like trying things out okay!

I was born and raised in South Africa but migrated to Australia with my family when I was a mere tween. I have had a paint brush in hand since I was two years old and glitter in my pockets since preschool. I love being outside and touching grass so many of my paintings are done sitting on a hill, beach, deck chair or mountain crevice.

Painting is the only thing that makes me feel calm and puts everything into perspective (literally and figuratively). Nature may be impermanent and ever moving but with a lil water, paint brush and paint, I can capture it as I see it forever. It helps with my attachment style.

A bit more about me, if you haven’t read enough, is that I am also a full-time lawyer (who woulda guessed!) and a part time skateboarder, surfer, pianist, yoyo-er, dancer, potter, wakeboarder, boat driver, baker, and mountaineer. I just like getting out there and giving things a go. I may be a master of none, but I sure am an enjoyer of all.

My family are also all creatives - my mom is a potter, dad is a photographer and sister is also an artist. Art is in my genes (and also my jeans - refer comment about the glitter above).

I am so grateful to be able to share my art and hope that it brings people that bit of peace and calm as it brings me. Thank you world for letting me live my dream!
